Muses & Rebels is a brand of high quality handmade jewelry and vintage clothing for women and men. M&R was launched in 2010 by the owner & designer, Natasha Landenberger. Based in Venice, California, Muses & Rebels is a casual lifestyle brand designed with effortless style in mind.
Natasha graduated from Otis College of Art & Design with a BFA in Fashion Design and worked in the fashion industry as a design director for several years before launching Muses & Rebels. During a month long stay with a close friend in Osaka, Japan, Natasha was inspired to make hand beaded necklaces and thread wrapped chains in an array of beautiful color gradations. Upon returning to California with the beginnings of her first jewelry collection, Natasha's family and close friends encouraged her to create her own line. These intricately hand made pieces inspired M&R. Today, the hand wrapped and interwoven braided chains are iconic to Muses & Rebels.
With the designer's professional experience in fashion, it was a natural evolution of the brand to include clothing. The vintage and second hand clothing items are carefully selected to compliment the laid back and individualistic nature of M&R. Frequenting thrift shops and the Rose Bowl Flea Market since she was a teenager, Natasha deeply appreciates used items and vintage design.
Each new M&R collection highlights current trends. The designs are beautiful pieces with a combination of colors & textures inspired by the coast. Often the styles can be worn in multiple ways. Pieces are made to order using raw materials that are available in limited quantities - M&R’s “made for you” concept.
